Will and Probate matters

We will act for you in drafting a Will, Estate Planning, Estate administration and in your contested Wills/Estate matter before and after the issue of a claim at court.
For simple Wills we charge £200.00
For tailored Wills with minor children, various beneficiaries, estate planning advice we charge up to £1,000.
Home visit or Hospital visit – £350 per visit if the Hospital or Home is in the surrounding areas like the Swanley, Dartford, Longfield, Crokenhill, Gravesend, Wilmington areas.
If VAT is payable on any of our fees we will let you know. At this time they are not.
We cannot always give an estimate of our legal fees for probate matters but the fees below are a guide to our charges. Call us to discuss your case in detail and we will offer you a fixed, estimated or fee based on the gross value of the estate based on the complicity or quantity of work to be carried out.
Obtaining a grant of representation in England and Wales Our legal Fees
Obtaining a Grant (IHT205) £800 – £3000 VAT where applicable at 20%
Obtaining a Grant (IHT400) £2500 – £6000 VAT where applicable at 20%
Resealing of Grant £2,000-£10,000 VAT where applicable at 20%
Contentious probate cases before the issue of a claim £750 – £10,000 VAT where applicable at 20%
Contentious probate cases to issue or defend a claim and to deal with your court case till its settlement in or outside Court. £2500- £50,000 VAT where applicable at 20%
Administration of Estate
         1.     Hourly fee of £150 to £300 all-inclusive
        2.     1-4% of Gross Estate (minimum fee £3500 all           inclusive). Please see our hourly fees below.
  • If we charge you only a percentage fee based on the gross value of the estate, we can charge you a higher percentage than 4%
  • A fee based on percent depends on the gross value of the estate and how many beneficiaries, accounts or assets the deceased had.
  • The lower the gross value of the estate the higher the percentage we will charge and higher the gross value of the estate the lower our fees will be.
  • We can hold off from collecting our fees until we bring in the assets. In order words, you can pay our fees after we bring in the assets
Legal Fees at hourly rate
(Grade A) Delphine Akinsete £265 – £350 per hour plus VAT if applicable
Solicitors, Legal Executives and fee earners with less than 8 years’ experience
(Grade B and C) £185 – £230 per hour plus VAT if applicable
Trainee Solicitors, Paralegals and Clerks
(Grade D) £150 – 175 per hour plus VAT if applicable


We will inform you if there is a need to increase our estimated fees. We will not carry out further work without informing you of a fee increase.
It takes up to 6 months to obtain a grant of probate. If the estate is straightforward to administer it will take 3-6 months.
If  we need to pay Inheritance tax, need to employ the services of an expert, need to deal with numerous beneficiaries, banks, financial institutions and assets have to be sold it can take a further 6 – 12 months to conclude matters. If the matter is delayed for any reason we will continue to let you know what the likely timescales will be.


These are not our legal fees, they are third party fees and you will need to pay your disbursements. How much Disbursements you pay will depend on the area of law that your case falls into. Examples of disbursements are:
